Quang Ninh: training course on drug rehabilitation with Cedemex

Monday 14/10/2019 16:36

VGP – A training course on drug rehabilitation with Cedemex was held in the northern province of Quang Ninh from October 9-11.

The event was jointly organized by the province’s social evil prevention and control department and the Critical Diseases Research and Treatment Institute.

The training course, attracting the participation of nearly 50 working staff, provided knowledge and skills to enhance drug rehabilitation effectively.

The Vietnamese-made herbal medicine, Cedemex, is produced by the Ha Noi-based Critical Diseases Research and Treatment Institute and already approved for test use from 2013 to 2015.

In 2013, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung green-lighted a plan to step up the research, production, and supply of Cedemex as a medicine to halt the craving for drugs.

In 1995, scientists started researching and successfully produced Cedemex from herbs, mainly used to cut cravings for drugs.

This means Cedemex is completely different from Methadone, a medicine used as a substitute drug without causing addiction.

Cedemex is produced from 17 different kinds of herbs in Viet Nam.

After clinically testing the safety and effectiveness on 200 voluntary drug users in northern provinces in 2004, Cedemex was evaluated by the State Scientific Council as safe and effective.
