Dong Nai: 93% of HIV/AIDS carriers have health insurance cards

VGP – As many as 3,600 HIV/AIDS patients are being treated at nine HIV/AIDS outpatient clinics in the southern province of Dong Nai, 93% of whom have health insurance cards. 

Since early October, HIV/AIDS outpatient clinics have officially provided treatment by health insurance for HIV/AIDS carriers. 

As of the end of the first quarter of 2019, nearly 8,400 HIV-infected people were recorded in the province, an increase of 500 ones compared to the same period last year. 

The province’s department of health inaugurated the eighth Methadone treatment center in Vinh Cuu District. 

Currently, Vinh Cuu District is home to 130 drug addicts, 32 ones of whom joined Methadone treatment and 468 HIV carriers were recorded in the district. 

According to the statistics of the province’s disease control center, more than 1,000 drug addicts have participated in Methadone treatment at eight treatment centers in the province. 

One more Methadone treatment center will open in Cam My District at the end of 2019.
