VGP – The Viet Nam Administration for HIV/AIDS Control (VAAC), under the Ministry of Health, organized a training course for officials in charge of HIV/AIDS prevention and control in the southern provinces of Long An, Binh Duong, Tien Giang, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Dong Nai from September 30-October 1.

The training course focused on communicating the K=K or U=U Campaign (Undetectable = Untransmittable).

Speaking at the training course, Director for U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) John Blandford highlighted the importance of K=K Campaign in realizing the 90-90-95 Plan in Viet Nam (By 2020, 90% of all people living with HIV will know their HIV status; 90% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained antiretroviral therapy; 95% of all people receiving antiretroviral therapy will have viral suppression).

The goal of the U=U campaign is to reduce the amount of stigma felt by someone living with HIV.

Currently, around 80% of HIV carriers know their status, of whom 70% are being treated with ARV.

The training course helped trainees know more principles on writing about HIV/AIDS.
