VGP – The capital city of Ha Noi has taken measures to reach the 90-90-90 Plan (By 2020, 90% of all people living with HIV will know their HIV status; 90% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained ARV therapy; 90% of all people receiving ARV therapy will have viral suppression).

As of March 31 this year, Ha Noi reported that 66.7% of HIV carriers know their status and 61.4% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection receive sustained ARV therapy while 97% of all people receiving ARV therapy have viral suppression.

According to the report of Ha Noi’s Department of Health, as of the end of 2018, as many as 21,038 HIV carriers were recorded in the city, making up 10% of the number of HIV-positive ones nationwide (210,450 HIV carriers in Viet Nam).

In 2018, a total number of 1,290 new HIV carriers were found in the city.

Over the recent decade, the capital city has made progress in HIV/AIDS prevention and control in all three criteria of the numbers of new HIV carriers, ones developing with AIDS and deaths of HIV/AIDS.
