Ha Noi aims to reach 90-90-95 Plan by 2020

VGP – The capital city of Ha Noi has actively completed HIV prevention plan, heading to reach the 90-90-95 Plan by 2020 (By 2020, 90% of all people living with HIV will know their HIV status. By 2020, 90% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained antiretroviral therapy. By 2020, 95% of all people receiving antiretroviral therapy will have viral suppression).

According to the city’s disease control center, as of the end of 2018, as many as 21,000 alive HIV carriers were recorded in the city, accounting for 10% of the total number of people living with HIV nationwide. 

In 2018 only, Ha Noi uncovered 1,290 HIV carriers. 

The proportion of HIV transmissions through sexual behaviors increased from 30% in 2015 to 60% in 2018. Thus, from May to September 2019, the capital city has been one of the first localities nationwide to launch the Undetectable=Untransmittable or K=K campaign.

Ha Noi’s department of health, Ha Noi Center for Disease Control, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the Partnership for Health Advancement in Viet Nam (HAIVN) and the Ha Noi Medical University joined hand to promote the K=K. 

The K=K has been carried out at 859 health organizations and community organizations and approved and supported at 97 nations.
